Last Sunday I ministered on the subject:our eternal home, Heaven, at Liberty Church in Cleveland .  If you want to hear the entire recorded message it is available on the podcast below.  I am comforted to know some of my loved ones are living in that eternal city. Heaven is a real place but there is only one way to gain entrance and this is through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.  It is my decision to accept His redemption for me and I trust you have made that decision as well.

As believers we should desire to do more than simply gain entrance into Heaven. Centuries ago, King David penned the following, “Day by day, the Lord observes the good deeds done by godly men, and gives them an eternal reward.”  (Psalm 37:18 TLB) It is not enough to ask the Lord into our heart.  Hebrews 9:27 says, “As it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment”

As a believer our sins have already been judged at salvation.  One day we will appear before the throne and account for our deeds while on the earth. My goal every day is to do something that has eternal significance.  I refuse to squander or waste my time, energy or talents on petty issues. I choose to guard the places I frequent, what books I read and who I allow in my inner circle.

My goal is have plenty of good deeds recorded in the books of Heaven. The enemy hates us and will do everything possible to thwart our purpose. It takes real determination to press through the stuff around us. My prayer for us is that we will run our race well! Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. The eyes of the Lord are watching us, what good deeds will you accomplish today?
