I love reading the gospel of Luke because you really see the compassion of our Lord towards others. It is imperative for us to recognize one of the attacks against our faith and our spiritual growth. I beleive the enemy loves to lie to us about the goodness of God and sets up unfulfilled expectations in our daily walk. There isn’t a Christian alive who has not had to deal with life’s tragedies, devastations, sickness, grief, or worse. The Lord Jesus explained to us that we will have (not might have) troubles in life. As long as we live on planet earth, we will have the opportunity or the temptation to bail out or simply quit. We bail out on our marriages, we bail out on our friendships, we bail out on our church and pastors. We want a quick fix. We mistakenly think a different house, job, spouse or church is going to change things.

In Luke 10:7 it says, “and stay in that house, eating and drinking what they give you, for the laborer is worthy of his wages, do not keep moving from house to house.” I believe our God has an abundant supply designed especially for our needs. Where we live, what family we belong to, the church we attend is vital. For instance, if a plant is pulled up, the roots will go into shock. As believers we need to stay rooted for our own spiritual growth.

I have had plenty of things not work out the way I thought they should. However, I refuse to dwell on them. I refuse to blame another person, my church, family, spouse or friend. I believe The Lord has us exactly where we need to be. I encourage you to speak to those disappointments and unfulfilled desires. Today, we can make the choice to refuse to quit! God has a bigger plan than what you might see today. His plans for us are good. Pray for your Pastors, give whatever is in your hand, and do the right thing. Let’s finish our race in life strong and content in His goodness!
I love you and speak words of life over you!
